Every day, corporate offices and institutes are working to increase the productive working hours in a day. When the current system of clocking in daily using a fingerprint scanner or calling out names from a register is a time-consuming and inefficient use of time, introducing Smart Attendance Systems helps to ensure efficiency. Currently, we have fingerprint and Smart-card Based entries in nearly all offices and a few schools and colleges. These system then automates the calculation of salary or attendance percentage.
But fingerprint scanning and smart card barcode entries tend to take up time and prove to also be imperfect. FaceX provides Face ID based solutions for a more efficient clock-in system.
FaceX has collaborated with various clients to this effect: the introduction of face verification and face ID based clock-in.
In Corporate offices that have face recognition based attendance, the database of employee facial analytics data is first created and registered (using a Face Vector API or Face Vector SDK). Once this data is compiled, the smart CCTV cameras powered by FaceX Face Vector APIs (or SDKs) are positioned appropriately at the office entrances and exits and scans incoming or outgoing crowds.
Face detection will detect all faces in the frame and Face Verification/ Face Vector will compare the detected facial attributes to the data stored in the database and ID the incoming crowd. The face recognition system IDs the employees and clocks them in for that day.
When a face that is detected is not among the ones registered in the database, the system sends an alert to the security guard who can take the appropriate action required.
A few clients, who wished for a more personalized solution, opted for a phone app version of the system. Here, an app powered by FaceX face verification is installed on employees' phones who can then clock-in by taking a selfie on arriving at work. A similar concept is there in a certain retail store where all employees line up at the storefront and a photo is taken, via the face recognition-based attendance app, at the exact check-in time. The photo is processed using Face verification and ID's the employees present that day.
In Educational Institutions, cameras installed around the school building would be linked to the face Vector API (or SDK) which would then use face verification to identify the students who have arrived. A face recognition based system would also be able to help schools keep a track of students and ensure their safety at all times. Adding Emotion detection using face analytics would help to detect distressed students faster and ensure that the school can reach out to them on time.
In Residential Societies, that currently use the MyGate or similar apps, the security personnel are required to stop every incoming vehicle that isn't registered and manually enter the person's phone number each time the visitor arrives. If Face Recognition was to be introduced to gated societies, the person entering the society could be registered on the Face recognition system the first time along with their name and phone number. On any subsequent visit, the Face Recognition system would automatically notify the security personnel of the visitor's name and Phone number, streamlining the entry system.
Face detection based smart attendance/ entry systems offer an option for efficiently and swiftly identifying people who are to be admitted into an institution, society or office and helps maintain a decentralized entry system for a world that is fast expanding.
